Overview
ShareofAnswer.is ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Paul Andre. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Share of Answer tool, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We keep data collection minimal and do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Data We Collect
Account data
When you sign in, we store your email address and a session token. We use a one-time verification code sent to your email — we do not store passwords. We also record whether you opted in to product updates at the time of sign-up.
Analysis data
When you run a Share of Answer analysis, we store the inputs you provide (brand name, website, keyword variations, and search prompt) along with the results returned by Google AI Overviews, including the full AI Overview text, detected signals, and calculated scores. This data is linked to your account and retained to power your analysis history and exports.
Usage data
We record the number of analyses run per day per account to enforce fair-use rate limits. We also log timestamps of account activity. We do not use third-party analytics beyond Vercel Analytics, which provides aggregate, privacy-preserving traffic metrics.
How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate your account and maintain your session.
- To store and display your analysis history and results.
- To enforce daily usage limits.
- To send you the one-time verification code needed to sign in.
- To send product updates if you opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To improve the tool based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns.
Data Storage and Retention
Your data is stored in a Neon PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS infrastructure in the EU region. Analysis results are retained for as long as your account exists. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email address below and we will action your request within 30 days.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly as needed to operate the tool:
- Neon — database hosting (PostgreSQL).
- Vercel — application hosting and edge infrastructure.
- Resend — transactional email delivery for verification codes.
- ValueSERP — Google Search API used to run AI Overview queries.
Cookies and Sessions
We use a single HTTP-only session cookie to maintain your authenticated session. This cookie is strictly necessary for the tool to function and is not used for advertising or tracking. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at:
